South Carolina man arrested after attacking woman on Greenway in Pineville

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – A South Carolina man was arrested and charged after attacking a woman on the Greenway in Pineville Monday afternoon, Pineville police said.

According to police, they responded to a reported assault around 2:18 p.m. on the Greenway between Leitner Drive and Centrum Parkway.

The jogger told police that she was grabbed, thrown to the ground and held down by an unknown assailant, later identified as 29-year-old Tyrone Lyndin Duncan. She said she was able to kick him off and run toward other cyclists to get help.

Pineville police immediately arrived, found and arrested Duncan.

He is accused of assaulting a woman and possession of methamphetamine.
