Man arrested in Kentucky after shooting THP police officer

HOPKINSVILLE, Kentucky – A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper.

According to THP, Kentucky State Police arrested Braze Rucker in Princeton on Sunday morning after a police officer was shot on Interstate 40.

During Friday’s incident, police officer Adam Cothron was injured in a shooting involving a vehicle occupied by two people, according to authorities. THP says one of those people, Rucker, was a passenger in the vehicle.

Early Sunday morning, police said Cothron’s condition was critical.

The search for the other occupant of the Kia Forte involved in the shooting continues.

Rucker remains in the Christian County Jail.
