Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run accident in Beaufort County

BEAUFORT COUNTY, NC (WITN) – Police say a pedestrian was killed in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Beaufort County on Friday.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, it happened at 6:30 a.m. on US 17 at the intersection with Possum Track Road.

They identified the victim as 44-year-old William Crisp of Chocowinity, North Carolina.

Authorities say the accident is still under investigation.
