3 boys from 6th and 7th grade confess to raping and killing 8-year-old girl and disposing of body

Three boys aged 12 and 13 in Nandyala district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh have confessed to police that they raped and then murdered an eight-year-old girl from their school and then dumped her body in an irrigation canal.

Accordingly NDTVThe incident took place in Muchumarri, over 300 km from Amaravati, and came to light after the girl’s father filed a complaint with local police on Sunday (July 7) after she went missing. The complainant told police that his daughter, a Class 3 student, had gone to Muchumarri Park to play but had not returned home.

Although the police were unable to find any trace of the girl despite searching and questioning neighbors, a sniffer dog led the investigation team to the accused.

Two of the boys are said to be 12 years old and in the 6th grade, while the other is 13 years old and in the 7th grade.

During questioning, the youths told police that they joined the girl who was playing in the park and later took her to a secluded spot near Muchumarri Dam where they raped her. Police said the boys confessed that they later murdered the girl because they were afraid she would tell her parents about the assault and dumped her body in the nearby canal.

The police have not yet been able to find the body and are treating the incident as a missing person case.
