26-year-old dead after crashing into canal in Dos Palos, says CHP | YourCentralValley.com

DOS PALOS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man is dead after crashing into a canal in Dos Palos early Thursday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

Around 2:40 a.m., CHP said it received a call about a crash on Russell Avenue a few miles south of Dos Palos. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and determined it was a single-vehicle accident.

CHP says a witness saw the vehicle enter the canal and did not see anyone exit the vehicle.

Some time later, water and rescue crews arrived at the scene and removed a 26-year-old man from Dos Palos, who was the only person in the vehicle, CHP said.

According to CHP, the vehicle was traveling south on Russell Avenue.

The investigation is ongoing. The identity of the deceased man has not been officially announced.
