Pakistani man who raped and murdered seven-year-old Zainab executed in front of her father

A Pakistani man was convicted of Murder and rape of a seven-year-old child it was accomplished.

Imran Ali was hanged in the eastern Zimbabwean city of Lahore in the presence of the father of seven-year-old Zainab Ansari. The rape and murder of seven-year-old Zainab Ansari in January sparked nationwide outrage.

Imran was arrested two weeks after he dumped her body in a garbage dump in the city of Kasur in the province of Punjab.

After his arrest, Imran confessed to the other murders and was convicted in court for the deaths of six more girls.

Police officer Mohammad Afzal said: “Imran was taken to the gallows just before dawn and hanged with a rope in the presence of a judge and a doctor.”

Zainab’s father, Mohammed Amin Ansari, was allowed to attend the execution.

Mr Ansari had called for Imran to be hanged in a public place to deter others from doing so, but judges rejected his request this week.

Shortly after witnessing Imran’s execution, Mr Ansari thanked the judiciary, the government and investigators for the swift implementation of justice.

“My daughter will not come back, but I am satisfied that justice has been done,” he said.

However, he told reporters that he wished the execution had been televised.

Authorities handed over Imran’s body to his family and he is scheduled to be buried later on Wednesday.

Zainab’s rape and murder shocked the nation after a photo of her went viral on social media, showing the smiling girl in her favorite bright pink coat and with a pink barrette in her hair.

Pakistanis across the country gathered to demonstrate and demand the immediate arrest of the killer.

At the time of his daughter’s disappearance, Mr Ansari and his wife were on a pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
