Thackerville police officer arrested for theft

THACKERVILLE, Okla. (KFOR) – A Thackerville police officer was arrested Wednesday and charged with theft of a suspected stolen firearm.

According to officials, Thackerville police officer Erwin Kenneth Parker, 29, was alerted to an unattended death near Sandpiper Road and Highway 77 on April 3.

Thackerville police were notified on June 10 that Parker had taken a firearm from the crime scene on April 3 and never reported it. Authorities say Parker later brought the gun to his residence.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations (OSBI), on June 13, Thackerville police requested the OSBI’s assistance in investigating a stolen firearm attack.

Based on evidence and information gathered by OSBI agents, Parker was arrested and booked into the Love County Jail.

According to OSBI, the investigation is still ongoing.
