Former Lexington pastor charged with raping young teenager

A former Kentucky pastor faces multiple charges, accusing him of raping a teenage girl. According to an arrest warrant, police arrested 47-year-old Zachary King in Lexington on Monday and charged him with two counts of rape and two counts of sodomy. The warrant states that police were investigating King for sexual exploitation of a minor. Police said King admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl over the past year and a half. King told police he would pick up the teen and drive her to a park where he would have sex with her. He also admitted to having sex with the girl at her home, his home and at the church where he previously pastored. The warrant states that King resigned from his post as pastor after church officials confronted him with allegations that he had an “inappropriate relationship” with the minor as part of the investigation. In addition to meeting and having sex with the teen, King told police he would send and receive explicit photos. Police say the girl denied King’s claims that she asked to be tied up during one of their meetings and said the idea came from King. She also told police he forced her to perform other sexual acts. King’s bail was set at $250,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court again Friday.
