At least 59 people arrested overnight near Chicago Pride Parade

At least 59 people, including nine teenagers, were arrested overnight near the Pride Parade. The charges range from obstructing traffic and disobeying police orders to misdemeanors and felonies, Chicago police said.

At least four firearms were seized during the arrests, police said.

On Tuesday morning, Chicago police said 24 people had been arrested and charged with various offenses, including reckless conduct, assault, resisting/obstructing police and criminal damage. At least 14 people have been charged with felonies.

Six people were charged with disturbing the peace or ignoring police orders, six people were charged with obstructing traffic by non-motorized road users and one person was taken into custody on the basis of an arrest warrant, police said.

At least 14 of those arrested were charged with serious crimes ranging from drug possession to weapons offenses to assaulting a police officer. Charges are pending against two people taken into custody.
