Ukrainian drones attack Russian steel plant Novolipetsk

According to Militarnyi, Ukrainian attack drones struck the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant in the Russian city of Lipetsk on the night of June 28.

Recently, Ukrainian drone attacks have regularly targeted Russian oil refineries and oil depots in various regions.

According to Russian media, seven drones targeted the power plant site and damaged the oxygen separation plant and the oxygen station, but no casualties were reported.

This is not the first attack on the Novolipetsk steelworks, the largest steelworks in Russia and the 17th largest in the world. In February, the governor of the Lipetsk region, Igor Artamonov, spoke of a fire breaking out “in one of the workshops” of the steelworks.

Initial reports said the fire was caused by a technical fault, but workers confirmed that it started after two drones crashed into the factory.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that drones of the Ukrainian security service had successfully attacked more than 30 oil refineries, terminals and depots in Russia.
