Chicago shooting: Police report 3 shots and deaths in nighttime gun violence at drive-by in the South Side in Chatham on 76th Street

CHICAGO (WLS) — According to Chicago police, three people were shot on the city’s south side early Sunday.

The shooting occurred at about 2:17 a.m. in the 500 block of East 76th Street near Eberhart in the Chatham neighborhood.

The victims, two men and a woman, got into an argument with the two unknown men.

Moments later, the two got into a silver SUV, began shooting at the victims and then drove away.

All three were hit by several bullets.

They were taken to the hospital where they later died, Chicago police said.

The silver SUV fled eastbound. No further injuries were reported.

No one is in custody. CPD detectives are conducting a murder investigation.
