Third suspect arrested in connection with fatal shooting in Stockton

(BCN) – A third suspect was arrested this week in connection with the death of a man found in a vehicle in Stockton in April.

Sir James Roots, 19, has been identified as a suspect allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Boivae Martinez Jr. on April 6.

Police said that after a warrant was issued for Roots’ arrest, he committed two robberies on Wednesday, which led to his arrest by police.

He was taken to the San Joaquin County Jail.

Stockton parents arrested on suspicion of baby’s death

On the day Martinez Jr. was killed, police said they responded to a reported car crash in the area of ​​Wood Duck Circle and Quail Lakes Drive at 12:42 a.m.

Martinez Jr. was found by police in a vehicle on a median with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In May, 18-year-old Jadari Benson was arrested by San Joaquin County Sheriff’s officers following a traffic stop. Rafael Galvan, 18, was also arrested by Long Beach police on his warrant.

All three suspects are believed to have been involved in the murder of Martinez Jr. and were taken to the San Joaquin County Jail.

Police said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
