Rape: Five persons arrested for raping minor girl, including two minors | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by five youths, including two minor boys, in a village in Bapatla district on Friday night. The accused lived in the same locality as the victim and was known to her. Police arrested all the accused within 24 hours of the crime. They said the victim went to her grandmother’s house on Friday. The girl alleged that the accused took her to a remote orchard that night and raped her. When she did not return home after 10 pm, her relatives became worried and searched for her. However, the victim came home later in the night and reported the assault. Based on the complaint filed by the victim, police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC and the Pocso Act.
