Man arrested after escape, found with alcohol and drugs, Laredo police say

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Alfredo Garcia, 35, was arrested Tuesday, June 25, after attempting to flee from Laredo police in a gray Toyota Camry for about six blocks, officials said. The incident began around 4:20 p.m. when officers attempted to stop Garcia for a traffic violation at the intersection of Alamo Street and Flores Avenue.

Despite the blue lights and sirens, Garcia did not stop immediately. When officers finally stopped him, they found open cans of alcohol in the car and a tampered with medication bottle containing unknown drugs. Garcia was arrested and charged with evading arrest in a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.
