Two men die after car crash on Yucca Street in Hesperia – VVNG.com

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) – Sheriff’s officials confirmed that two men were killed in a single-vehicle crash in the city of Hesperia Wednesday afternoon.

On June 19, 2024, at approximately 3:05 p.m., San Bernardino County Fire Department officers and emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident on Yucca Street, near Roble Avenue.

At arrival, Alex Cardenas44, a resident of Hesperia, was near the vehicle involved, a blue 2002 Mini Cooper. Alex received emergency medical treatment and was transported to a local hospital. Alex was later transported to a regional trauma center where he succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash.

During the crash Frank Cardenas46, a resident of Hesperia, was thrown a considerable distance from the vehicle and found dead.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Alex was driving the Mini Cooper eastbound on Yucca Street at a high rate of speed when he lost control and left the road. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to a stop in the front yard of a nearby residence.

Sheriff’s officials said it cannot be determined at this time whether drugs and/or alcohol played a role.

Yucca Street was closed in the affected area for several hours while officers from the Hesperia Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) investigated the accident scene.
