Ithaca man arrested for attempted burglary – Finger Lakes Daily News

Ithaca police arrested a man early Wednesday morning after he allegedly attempted to break into a home on West Clinton Street by smashing a window with the butt of a gun.

When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect, Takiem Foat, had already left. A short time later, police spotted Foat driving by and attempted to stop him, but he fled. Foat was eventually arrested after driving his car through a fence between First and North Meadow Streets.

Foat was charged with attempted burglary, criminal damage, eluding a police officer, menacing, obstructing governmental administration, two counts of reckless driving, driving without a license and numerous traffic violations. Additional charges are pending.

Cornell University Police, Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, Ithaca Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance assisted in this incident.
