Shooting in North Philadelphia leaves 16-year-old girl and 6 others injured, police say

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Seven people, including a 16-year-old girl, were injured in a shooting Wednesday in North Philadelphia, police said.

The shooting occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of North Bambrey Street.

According to police, the 16-year-old was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and the six other people were taken to Temple University Hospital.

According to police, the 16-year-old suffered graze wounds to the stomach and right thigh during the shooting.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the left leg, a 31-year-old woman was shot once in the left hand and a 23-year-old man was shot once in the right buttock, authorities said.

A 47-year-old woman was shot once in the left thigh and a 29-year-old woman was shot once in the right thigh, police said.

Authorities said an 18-year-old woman was shot once, but did not say where she was hit.

All seven people injured in the shooting are in stable condition, police said.

The motive for the shooting is unclear and no arrests have been made so far, police said.
