TRAFFIC ALERT: Avalon Street closed after possible explosive device found at KP Auto Sales

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Police are asking the public to avoid the area around KP Auto Sales after a possible explosive device was reported this morning.

At approximately 9:07 a.m. on Wednesday, CPD received a 911 call about a possible explosive device found in a vehicle the caller had just picked up from a junkyard. According to CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien, the caller said a small black bag with what looked like a fuse inside was found.

Avalon Street is currently closed between Fort Campbell Boulevard and Sevier Street. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Disposal Unit has been notified and is on scene, as are the Clarksville Fire Department and Montgomery County EMS.

Citizens are asked to avoid the area until the situation is safe again.
