Tallahassee police struggle to contain ‘aggressive’ alligator in backyard

Dangerous operations are nothing new for the Tallahassee Police Department, but an operation on Father’s Day threw the officers completely off track.

Officers were dispatched to a home on Remer Court in northwest Tallahassee after a resident called about a “dangerous animal,” TPD spokeswoman Heather Merritt told the Tallahassee Democrat.

An alligator about 60 cm long was lying in a resident’s front yard before the resident called and had it removed.
