Woman wanted in connection to fatal April stabbing arrested, DC police say

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A woman who was wanted by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) for a fatal stabbing that happened in April was arrested Monday.

Officers responded to the 1300 block of Peabody Street NW just after 11:20 pm on April 5 after receiving reports of an unconscious person inside an apartment. MPD found 53-year-old Fasil Teklemariam inside suffering from stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Monday, over two months after the stabbing, members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force found and arrested 19-year-old Audrey Miller in Hagerstown, Md.

She was charged with First Degree Murder while Armed – Felony Murder. MPD said she would be extradited to Washington, DC
