Brent River Park closed after reports of rape of 17-year-old girl

Police cordoned off Brent River Park near Stonebridge Park Station overnight on Wednesday (June 12) and most of Thursday (June 13), restricting access to the public.

At 10.43pm on Wednesday, officers were called to a report of a 17-year-old girl being raped by two men in Tokyngton Park – a section near Brent River Park.

The victim was found and cared for by officers on scene before they searched the area, but the suspects had fled the park.

Specialist officials were informed and forensic investigations were carried out.

Two men have now been arrested on suspicion of rape and are currently still in custody.

Brent River Park is now open to the public again and all police barriers have been removed.
