1 dead after accident at McClain Co.

MCCLAIN COUNTY, Oklahoma. –

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, one person was killed in a traffic accident in McClain County on Thursday.

OHP stated that 45-year-old Prescott E. Sims was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 177 at approximately 10:05 a.m. when he crossed into the southbound lane and collided with another vehicle.

According to OHP, Sims was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Sims was trapped for about an hour before he was freed by Stratford Fire Department, OHP said.

The other driver was treated and released, according to OHP.
