This afternoon, Melissa Bennett of 802 Curtis St, Paris TN was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division on several charges: Impersonation of a Public Official, Theft of Property Under $1,000, Criminal Impersonation, and Trespassing.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fraud involving a home currently listed for sale by the Cannon Reality Group of Paris at 825 Highway 69 North.

During this investigation, investigators discovered that the home is actually listed for sale by Cannon Reality Group, but is advertised for rent on Facebook by several accounts. These accounts have the phone number 810-447-9363 associated as a contact number.

This investigation has revealed that once you call the phone number provided, the person you speak to will ask you several questions about your interest in the home. The person will then ask you to submit an application, which will be sent via email along with a refundable fee of $60 to a specified account.

These accounts and people have NOTHING to do with the Cannon Reality Group from Paris!! This house is actually currently for sale!!

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who has fallen victim to this scam involving the phone number or home listed to contact us at 731-642-1672.
