Investigation into Ellendale shooting underway

ELLENDALE, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting just outside of Ellendale.

Ellendale Assistant Fire Chief Aaron Moore told WMDT the shooting occurred just before 4:30 p.m. at the New Hope Community Center on North Old State Road. The victim was brought to the fire station by witnesses.

Emergency crews performed life-saving measures until the victim was transported to Bayhealth Sussex Campus in Milford. Surrounding roads have been closed as part of the ongoing investigation.
