1 dead, 4 injured after shooting in northwest Toronto

According to police, one person was dead and four others injured in a shooting late Sunday in northwest Toronto.

Toronto police said emergency crews were called to the area between Kipling Avenue and Mount Olive Drive, just north of Finch Avenue West, at 10:53 p.m. for a report of a shooting.

Five people were found with gunshot wounds and taken to hospital.

Police initially said one of the victims, a man in his 50s, suffered life-threatening injuries, while the other victims suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Toronto paramedics told Global News they took five adults to hospital: two in critical condition and the other three in serious condition.

In an update, police said one of the victims had died and the homicide squad was now conducting an investigation.

According to police, a black truck was observed fleeing the area.
