Man pronounced dead after emergency services arrive on Colchester Street

Emergency services rushed to a street in Colchester in the early hours of the morning and a man was pronounced dead.

Officers from Essex Police were called to Distillery Lane at 2.15am yesterday, Sunday 2nd June, after being confronted with concerns about the welfare of a man.

When the emergency services arrived, the man was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for Essex Police has confirmed further details of the incident and does not believe it is suspicious.

They said: “His death is not considered suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”

The Colchester Gazette has asked the East of England Ambulance Service for a comment on the incident.
