Mt. Angel man accused of New Year’s Day murder arrested in Mexico

PORTLAND, Oregon (KOIN) – A man from Mount Angel accused of murdering a person He was arrested in Mexico in January, officials said.

Agustin Barocio, 42, was taken into custody on May 24 and returned to the United States. He is charged with premeditated murder.

Barocio is accused of shooting 42-year-old Brandon Slack in Marion County on New Year’s Day.

“The Marion County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the U.S. Marshals for their assistance in this investigation,” authorities said.
