Rape: Kerala man arrested for raping woman | Mangaluru News

Mangaluru: Mangaluru East police have arrested a man who allegedly repeatedly sexually harassed and threatened to kill a woman he knew. The accused is Sujith K from Kerala. City police commissioner Anupam Agrawal stated that the woman in her complaint stated that she went to a private hospital in Mangaluru on March 13 accompanied by the accused to get treatment for a fistula. While she was undergoing treatment on the night of March 16, Sujith allegedly sexually harassed her and took nude photographs of her. He allegedly threatened her with these photographs. On April 4, Sujith allegedly forced the woman to come to a hotel room in Mangaluru and sexually harassed her between April 4 and 8, again taking photographs. The woman was then admitted to a private hospital for food poisoning. Sujith allegedly assaulted her in the hospital and threatened her with dire consequences if she spoke about the crime. Police have filed a complaint against Sujith under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code.
