SAN BENITO COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) – The Hollister Police Department’s Animal Care and Protection Division has arrested a 61-year-old woman who intentionally ran over her rooster.

According to officials, they received several reports of a woman kicking chickens, injuring one.

On May 23, several Animal Control and Welfare officers, along with the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office, executed a warrant at a home in the 2000 block of San Juan Canyon Road in unincorporated San Benito County.

While executing the warrant, animal control officers noticed a strong odor of feces coming from the home, which prompted them to obtain a search warrant for the property.

After animal control officers obtained the search warrant, they discovered two cats living in unsanitary conditions and without adequate care.
