Manslaughter charges possible after 42-year-old Vader woman struck and killed on Interstate 5

According to the Washington State Patrol, a 42-year-old Vader woman was struck and killed Friday while standing in the shoulder of Interstate 5 in Clark County.

According to state police, Jessica M. Blinebry died at the scene of the accident.

Guadalupe V. Munoz, 44, of Woodland, was driving a 1991 Nissan pickup north at mile marker 17 around 10:30 p.m. when he allegedly failed to yield the right of way to a stationary fire truck, collided with the emergency vehicle and lost control of his vehicle.

His truck then struck Jessica M. Blinebry and 39-year-old Casey J. Blinebry, who were on the side road. Casey J. Blinebry was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

Munoz was not injured. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

According to state police, Munoz could face charges of negligent homicide.

It is not known whether drugs or alcohol played a role. State police said the cause of the accident was failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle.
