A man knocks on the door and tries to sexually assault an 81-year-old with Alzheimer’s, cops in California say

A man has been arrested after he was accused of trying to rape an 81-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s disease, California officials said.

On April 29, the man was identified as Walker Gabriel MunozAccording to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department, the 22-year-old knocked on the woman’s apartment door in Pacoima and she let him in.

Once inside, Munoz physically assaulted the woman and attempted to sexually assault her, police said. The attack was recorded by a home surveillance camera, authorities said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated for sexual assault, police said.

Munoz was arrested May 3 and booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on a charge of kidnapping with intent to commit rape, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to call 818-834-3115.

Pacoima is located approximately 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
