Stitch Buffalo and Water Buffalo Club 716 celebrate Josh Allen’s birthday

Through Sunday, the Water Buffalo Club will donate 17% of all hat sales to the Patricia Allen Fund at Oisehi Children’s Hospital.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — At Stitch Buffalo’s new home on Plymouth Avenue, they have a lot to celebrate.

“On a daily basis we operate our retail store and accept donations. We also accept modification and repair work. We operate the Refugee Women’s Workshop which is a service for refugee and immigrant women who live and work here in Buffalo, and they come to Stitch Buffalo to get the supplies they need to make products that they then sell and earn an income,” said founder Dawn Hoeg.

Another thing they’re celebrating with their partners at Water Buffalo Club 716 is Josh Allen’s birthday.

“It’s World Day for Cultural Diversity and it’s Josh Allen’s birthday. It’s just a perfect match for all three parts of the event,” said Water Buffalo Club founder Therese Forton -Barnes.

Luxury Water Buffalo hats are handcrafted by Stitch Buffalo designers.

“When we started with the Water Buffalo Club and making their hats for them, the women didn’t know who the Buffalo Bills were,” Hoeg said. “It’s been a wonderful introduction to this community that’s in the city that they live in.”

While you might not think of a warm, fuzzy hat on a hot day, a portion of the proceeds are currently going to a good cause.

“Seventeen percent of all hat sales today through Sunday, celebrating Josh Allen Week, not just his birthday, will go to the Patricia Allen Fund at Oisehi Children’s Hospital,” Forton-Barnes said.

Oishei Children’s Hospital is also celebrating Josh Allen’s birthday, with a Giving Day donation drive to benefit the moms, kids and babies who receive care there.
