Man arrested after police pursuit leads to crash, police say | News

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was arrested after a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning in Frayser, police said.

Andrew Barfield, 34, faces multiple charges, including evading arrest, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, speeding and theft of property, according to Shelby County court records.

Barfield was traveling 60 mph in a 40 mph zone when police tried to pull him over, records show.

According to Shelby County Court records, Memphis police were monitoring traffic in the area of ​​Range Line and Whitney Avenue when Barfield was speeding and did not stop for police.

He continued to drive quickly, threw objects out the window, lost control of the car and crashed into another car with three people inside, records show.

Court records show Barfield jumped out of the car and threw down a stolen handgun.

According to police, a woman was taken to hospital in non-critical condition.
