Man killed after crashing into Dos Palos Canal

DOS PALOS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man who died after crashing into a canal in Dos Palos early Thursday morning has been identified, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

The California Highway Patrol said it was notified of a crash near Russell Avenue and Althea Avenue near Dos Palos around 2:40 a.m

A 26-year-old man is dead after a crash in a canal in Dos Palos, according to the CHP

Officers said a witness told them the vehicle drove south on Russell Avenue into a water-filled canal, but no one saw him get out of the car or the canal.

The driver, 26-year-old Robert Monreal of Dos Palos, died at the scene.

According to investigators, Monreal was the only occupant of the sedan.
