On Oahu, Honolulu police launched an attempted murder investigation in Waipahu.



WAIPAHU, Hawaii (Island News) – Honolulu police launched an attempted murder investigation after responding to an incident in which someone shot at a group of people in Waipahu.

On Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 1:40 a.m., HPD responded to Leonui St. Officers reported that an unknown suspect had fired shots at a group of people, hitting three people.

The group included a 17-year-old boy, a 24-year-old man, a 23-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man.

Three people from the group were injured and treated in a nearby hospital.

After the incident, the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
