Woman arrested and accused of groping boys at Del City swimming pool

A woman from the big city was accused of sex crimes against children and of groping two boys in a public swimming pool in Del City, police said.

The 12- and 13-year-old children called 911. According to investigators, the children accused 28-year-old Kayla Lena of touching them for several days.

“Obviously they were a little upset about it,” said Major Brad Cowden of the Del City Police Department.

According to court documents, Kayla Lena constantly groped her victims and called them “daddy.”

“At one point she attempted to remove their clothing to expose their genitals and made inappropriate comments several times throughout the day,” Cowden said.

While parents and other children swam nearby, lifeguards told police that Lena was walking around the pool with two boys and “touching them in the groin and buttocks.”

“They were made aware of it and observed the behavior, and she was removed pretty quickly after that,” Cowden said.

Police found Lana outside the Eagle Harbor Aquatic Center and confronted her.

Lena: Why? Sir?

Police: Look here and put your hands together.

Lena: Okay. (crying)

Visibly upset and handcuffed, Lena was initially not very accommodating.

Lena: Can I call my grandma?

Police: How old are you?

Lena: 28.

Police: Okay, what’s going on today?

Lena: Nothing.

However, when asked further, Lena gave a statement, according to police. “At one point she said she thought she was drowning, so she held on to one of the teenagers to pull herself up,” Cowden said.

The police escorted Lena out of the public swimming pool. She was arrested and taken to prison.

“The information she provided did not match the victims’ stories or the witnesses’ statements,” Cowden said.

One of the children also told police that Lena asked her to be her boyfriend.

Jail records show Lena’s bail was set at $100,000.

She is no longer in prison.
