The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) announced that it has arrested a man in connection with a series of five burglaries at businesses in the Mount Vernon Plaza (7600 Richmond Highway) in Hybla Valley.

According to FCPD, police were responding to a burglary in progress when someone from one of the stores monitored video footage from the office and told police that the suspect was still in the store. Police arrived at the store and arrested the suspect, who stole items from his possession.

“Detectives from our Criminal Investigation Division have preliminarily determined that (the suspect) entered the building through an unlocked skylight,” the FCPD said in a press release. “He subsequently broke into five businesses on the square.”
