One person taken to hospital after accident involving three vehicles and rescue

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – One person was taken to the hospital this evening after being extricated from one of three vehicles in a crash in the 9200 block of NW 39th Avenue.

According to a press release from the Alachua County Fire Department, multiple crews responded to the crash at around 8:12 p.m. after receiving a report that the occupant of a vehicle was trapped and needed to be extricated. Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to safely remove the patient, and he was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. The patient is reportedly in stable condition.

The occupants of the other vehicles were reportedly uninjured. The accident is currently under investigation.
