Mother of 14-month-old boy found dead in Farmington Hills motel sentenced

OAKLAND COUNTY, Michigan. – Amanda Jajou was sentenced to 15 to 60 years in prison for the death of her 14-month-old son. Farmington Hills.

Jajou was arraigned in Oakland County District Court on Thursday (July 11) after her young son was found dead in 2021 at a Farmington Hills motel where her family lived.

Officials said they were called to the Motel 6 in the 38300 block of Grand River Avenue near Halsted Road around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2021, where relatives expressed concern for 14-month-old Isaias Daniel Porras.

Officials say they found Porras dead in the family’s room at Motel 6.

Authorities said Porras’ parents, Isaias Aurelio Porras and Amanda Jajou, were arrested and arraigned in 47th District Court.

Porras was charged with first-degree premeditated murder and child abuse.

Jajou was charged at the time with first-degree murder, second-degree child abuse and aiding and abetting.
