Woman rescued by hikers after heart attack in Rocky Mountain National Park – Longmont Times-Call

An 80-year-old woman was rescued by hikers after she suffered a “cardiac arrest” on a hiking trail in Rocky Mountain National Park

According to a press release, park rangers were notified via satellite communication device that the hiker was found unconscious by other hikers on the Lawn Lake Trail, about five miles from the trailhead.

The hikers then performed CPR, the press release states.

Members of the Rocky Mountain National Park Search and Rescue team later arrived on scene to provide further assistance.

Park rangers were assisted in rescuing the woman using a hoist from a Colorado Army National Guard helicopter from Buckley Space Force Base.

According to the press release, the woman was taken to a rescue helicopter in Upper Beaver Meadows and flown for further emergency care. There was no update on her condition Monday evening.

The Rocky Mountain Rescue Group assisted with the helicopter transport, the press release said.
