Air Quality Warning issued for Jefferson and Shelby counties on July 13

As temperatures continue to rise again in Alabama, an air quality alert has been issued for some counties. The Alabama Partners for Clean Air announced that July 13 is a Code Orange Alert Day for ozone in Jefferson and Shelby counties. The alert means that air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups, including people with heart and/or lung disease, children and teens, and older adults. To help reduce ozone levels in the air, the Clean Air Group urges you to drive less, concentrate errands into one trip, avoid drive-ins, avoid using gas-powered lawn equipment, and fill up vehicles after 6 p.m. >>The Latest on Weather: WVTM 13 Weather
