Millinocket teenager dies in Maine accident, apparently involving moose – NECN

A teenage driver was found dead Tuesday at the scene of a car crash in central Maine that apparently involved a moose, police said.

The body of Landon Gardner, a 17-year-old from Millinocket, was found in a vehicle that crashed into trees on Poplar Street in T3 Indian Purchase on Tuesday, Maine State Police said Friday. A dead moose was found in the middle of the road.

Police were notified of the accident through an automated accident report, police said. East Millinocket police assisted state police in the investigation.

Police did not provide any further details about the accident on Friday, including how they believe it happened or possible contributing factors.
