Man dies in shooting in Lower Garden District

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man is dead after a shooting early Monday, July 8, in the Lower Garden District.

According to New Orleans police, they responded to a 911 call about a shooting at the corner of Tchoupitoulas Street and Andrew Higgins Drive at 1:27 a.m.

When officers arrived, they reportedly found a man with a gunshot wound.

The emergency services declared him dead at the scene of the accident.

No further details are available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is performed and family is notified.
