Southern California man arrested, accused of uploading child pornography

A Yucaipa man was arrested by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials on suspicion of uploading child pornography to the Internet from his home.

On Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Department issued a search warrant for the home of 23-year-old Isaac Ruiz in the 34100 block of Wildwood Canyon Road.

Ruiz was investigated after an online tip was received through the Los Angeles County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Investigators finally managed to obtain a search warrant for his home, which was served around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

During this search, investigators seized “numerous cell phones and other electronic devices.” Child pornography was found in at least one of these devices.

Ruiz was arrested and taken to the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, where he is being held on $30,000 bail.

Prison records show he is due in court on Monday and is expected to face charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact SBSD Detective Andrade at 909-918-2305. Anonymous tips can be submitted online or by phone at 1-800-782-7463.
