Shoplifting suspect arrested twice in two days in Apple Valley – VVNG.com

APPLE VALLEY, California (VVNG.com) – On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at approximately 2:08 p.m., officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Super Target on State Highway 18 in the City of Apple Valley.

Store employees reported that a person who had repeatedly stolen from the store returned and left the store again without paying.

Deputy D. Vallejo arrived at Super Target and learned that the subject had left the store. A short time later, Deputy Vallejo located the subject in the store parking lot and arrested him.

Marshawn Davian Franklin, a 27-year-old Apple Valley man, was arrested and subsequently booked into the High Desert Detention Center on a charge of shoplifting. Franklin was released from jail with a summons to appear in court at a later date.

On Thursday, July 4, 2024, officers were called to the Beyond Mart on Dale Evans Parkway because a male offender was stealing merchandise and yelling at customers.

At approximately 2:40 a.m., officers arrived at the scene and made contact with the suspect, Marshawn Davian Franklin. Officers detained Franklin to investigate the allegations, and while placing him in the back seat of a patrol car, Franklin kicked the officers.

Franklin was arrested for obstructing or resisting a peace officer and was again booked into the High Desert Detention Center. Franklin was arrested on this charge and is being held on $30,000 bail.
