Stabbing in Cumberland County leads to arrest

On June 28, a Cumberland County woman was severely stabbed in her Upper Allen Township home. The 36-year-old was found unconscious with visible stab wounds, including one deep enough to expose bone. She was treated immediately before being taken to Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital.

The assault occurred after the woman returned from work and began cleaning her house. She noticed unusual activity outside and was confronted at her front door by Amgad “Andrew” Hanna and another person named “David,” as well as a third man, Dived Hanna, who was waiting in a vehicle.

The attackers, identified as a former restaurant employee of the victim’s husband, attempted to force their way into the home. During the altercation, Hanna stabbed the woman in the arm. The attackers fled the scene when she began screaming for help.

Police were alerted and arrived promptly at the scene. After an investigation, during which the victim’s husband confirmed the victim’s identity and the victim confirmed, an arrest warrant was issued. Amgad Hanna was arrested on July 1 and awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 11 at the Cumberland County Prison.
