Oklahoma State RB, nation’s best runner, arrested for drunk driving

The country’s best runner is making headlines for all the wrong reasons starting in July.

According to multiple media reports, Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon was arrested Sunday morning and charged with drunken driving.

According to an affidavit released by KFOR, police said Gordon was driving a Cadillac near Oklahoma City when he was observed weaving between lanes around 2:30 a.m.

Gordon refused a sobriety test and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol while under 21, carrying an open bottle of alcohol, and failure to maintain lane after being tested for alcohol above the legal limit at the Cleveland County Jail.

Oklahoma State has not released a statement regarding Gordon.

Gordon led the FBS with 1,732 rushing yards and scored 22 total touchdowns last season, helping the Cowboys to a 10-4 record and a berth in the Big 12 championship game. He won the conference’s Offensive Player of the Year award and the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s best running back.

Oklahoma State opens the season on August 31 against South Dakota State.
