Person shot by officer at Gastonia Walmart

GASTONIA, NC (WBTV) – A person was shot by an officer at a Walmart in Gaston County Thursday morning, police said.

The Gastonia Police Department said the shooting happened at the store on East Franklin Boulevard.

It is unclear whether the person fired at officers or what led to the shooting.

The focus of the investigation appeared to be a black Nissan Altima that came to a stop on a grassy median in the parking lot.

The person’s condition is currently unknown.
