2 teens shot in Hayward, police say – NBC Bay Area

Two teenagers, ages 17 and 18, were injured in a shooting in Hayward, one of them requiring artificial respiration, police said Saturday.

The shooting was reported around 11:11 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Industrial Boulevard, police said in a Facebook post.

The victims, both of whom suffered gunshot wounds, were found near the 100 block of West Tennyson Road, police said.

One victim, an 18-year-old Pleasanton resident, suffered life-threatening injuries and was placed on a ventilator at a medical facility. The 17-year-old, also of Pleasanton, was treated at a local hospital and has since been released, police said.

There is no evidence that the shooting is connected to a murder that occurred on Wednesday, but this is under investigation, police said.

In that case, a 15-year-old from Rodeo was found shot to death around 2 a.m. near the 24,000 block of Second Street, police said.

At around 2:15 a.m., officers received a report that a second shooting victim had been taken to a local medical facility for treatment.

The condition of the victim, a 13-year-old boy from Hayward, is critical but stable, police said.
