One man dead after shooting in Chesapeake on Sunday – The Virginian-Pilot

A man is dead after a shooting on Sunday night in Chesapeake.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Coveside Lane, about a half-mile from the Greenbrier Mall, around 3 a.m., Chesapeake police said in a news release. They found 30-year-old Jeremiah Joseph Casarez with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

Investigators are looking for Darnell Maceo Barnwell, 39, who they believe is a person of interest in the investigation. He was last seen leaving the area in a black Hyundai sedan, the news release said.
